I saw the bags by chance on Instagram and fell in love immediately! I knew right away that I had to have one of these wonderful bags. The little details with the colourful letters or the bows on the handles, but also the handles themselves, are just so beautiful. And all of this combined simply makes it a bag that brings me joy. It's just so cute!
I waited for the next collection and (understandably) many of the new bag designs sold out immediately. In the end, I decided on the “Butter Dish Mini Puffer Bag”. Since I'm from Germany, I wrote to Joanna directly on Instagram to ask if there was any way to have it sent to Germany. Joanna made everything possible in no time so that I could buy the bag I wanted on her website and have it delivered to Germany. In the end, she even gave me a discount so that the delivery wouldn't be so expensive. And she kept me updated throughout the process. She's just so lovely .
Now the bag has arrived and it's even cuter than in the pictures! The colour combination is so harmonious and everything goes together so beautifully. I love incorporating it into my outfits... or rather, planning my outfits around the bag.
I'm so grateful to Joanna for all her efforts!

Sustainability Note:
Each Hot & Boring bag is made slowly and carefully from second-hand and vintage textiles, many of which are donated, locally sourced, or salvaged from clothing destined for landfill. All fabrics are washed before being used.
I design, cut, and sew everything myself using an industrial sewing machine at home, balancing this work around a full-time job as an art teacher. It’s a way to use my creative skills beyond the classroom – building something thoughtful, useful, and sustainable.
Every piece is constructed in small batches or as a one-off, depending on what fabric is available. The result is always practical, slightly imperfect, and one of a kind. Orders are packed with minimal waste and sent within the UK.
This is a hands-on, time-heavy process – but it means each bag has its own story, shaped by materials, method, and the slowness it deserves.
